Heidi Torres was born and raised in La Villita, where her experiences inspired a lifelong commitment to community engagement and public service. She is passionate about expanding opportunities for residents and advancing equitable solutions that strengthen neighborhoods and improve quality of life.
Heidi currently serves as a Community Representative for the Local School Council at her local elementary school, where she works alongside fellow members to support initiatives that promote student success and access to educational opportunities. She also serves as Secretary of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Alumni Association Chicago Chapter, where she helps foster professional development, civic engagement, and community leadership.
Heidi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan, with minors in Sociology of Health and Medicine, and Community Action and Social Change. Her academic background and community involvement continue to guide her work in local government and her dedication to serving residents with integrity, collaboration, and a commitment to public service.
Outside of work, Heidi enjoys playing the violin, crocheting, and exploring new cities.
