Proposed Hilco Settlement
On behalf of the 22nd Ward Public Service Office we would like to notify you of the Little Village Smokestack Settlement. There is a proposed settlement of a class action lawsuit regarding the former Crawford Coal Plant. If you or your property were affected by the demolition of the smokestack at the former Crawford Coal Plant on April 11, 2020 you may be entitled to be part of the settlement as a “Class Member.”

To submit a claim you can fill out and mail the claim form you may have already received in the mail or you can submit a claim online at the following website. https://www.littlevillagesmokestack.com/form/claim/open/.
The deadline to apply is March 26, 2024.
The 22nd Ward Public Service Office is supporting residents who need assistance filling out the claim form during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

You were present in the geographic area from: 33rd & Kedzie Avenue, west to 33rd & Klibourn, north to Kilbourn & Cermak, east to Cermak & Ogden, northeast to Ogden & California, south to 26th St. & California, west to 26th St. & Sacramento, south to Sacramento & 31st St., west to 31st St. & Kedzie, south to 33rd & Kedzie Avenue during the demolition of the smokestack; and/or
​
Your property received particulate matter from the demolition and disposal of the smokestack at the Crawford Coal Plant and was located in the geographic area from: 33rd & Kedzie Avenue, west to 33rd & Klibourn, north to Kilbourn & Cermak, east to Cermak & Ogden, northeast to Ogden & California, south to 26th St. & California, west to 26th St. & Sacramento, south to Sacramento & 31st St., west to 31st St. & Kedzie, south to 33rd & Kedzie Avenue.

Acuerdo Propuesto de Hilco

De parte de la oficina de Servicio Público del Distrito 22 le queremos notificar sobre el acuerdo de la Chimenea de La Villita. Hay un acuerdo propuesto de una demanda colectiva sobre la planta de carbón Crawford. Si usted o su propiedad fueron afectados por la demolición de la chimenea en la anterior planta de carbón Crawford en abril 11 del 2020 usted puede tener derecho a ser parte de la demanda colectiva como un “miembro.” Se puede visitar al Aviso del Acuerdo Hilco para más información.

Para someter un reclamo usted puede llenar y mandar por correo la forma que pudo haber recibido por correo – o - puede someter el reclamo en linea en la siguiente pagina web https://www.littlevillagesmokestack.com/form/claim/open/. La fecha límite para aplicar es el 26 de marzo 2024.
